Came back from LA yesterday! Was ridiculously exhausted. I definitely learned much though…especially how the events are runned. I also had a lot of input to give and I’m glad Jason took them all really well. Looking forward to traveling some more and observing some of the larger events soon.
I left around 3 pm to the Oakland airport since my flight was at 5. Honestly, I was a little scared because I didn’t want to get lost or die on the plane (thanks to plane crash story at business gala! :P) But thankfully I managed to make my way. I even met new people—two ladies on the plane and a guy who is doing his residency for plastic surgery at UCLA on the shuttle ride. I have to admit the latter aquaintence that I made was pretty cool. I wonder how many more plastic surgeons I’ll ever meet in my life. Anyhow upon arriving UCLA, the first thing that crossed my mind was how much it sucked that I didn’t have a camera! Even though I got there at night the school was still very pretty. Shian came to fetch me and we went to dinner together. Goodness, their cafeteria was 10 times better than Crossroads at Cal, hands down. They had a noodle stir fry station where chefs cook your food individually and the best chicken pot pie ever (it was baked served in individual bowls rather than piled onto a plate from a huge tray). The only complaint I really had was all the walking I had to do though. It was literally like climbing up two Foothills to get to her suite! We also walked to Westwood, where there were lots of luxurious and high end shops. All the food places looked pretty fancy too…such a big contrast to Berkeley’s ghettoness! It was fun making comparisons, but of course, I was still a bear, not a bruin at heart. We tried to watch Alice in Wonderland…but missed it by 30 minutes. It was lame because the next showing was literally two hours later, and there was only one theatre out of three even showing the movie. So sadly we did not get to see the movie and decided to just go back. I saw the hospital where MJ died. :X
I got hungry again when we returned and start eating lots. Cup noodles, smores pop tart, and Kbars! :D Not very healthy, but oh well. Me and Shian did a lot of catching up, and a lot of facebook stalking. And then her suitemates came back in really bad states. One of them had to go to the hospital and the other one was throwing up. It was pretty bad….college life I guess, haha. Hope they are alright though. I need to stop rambling now. My 7 pg midterm essay is calling my name, although I have been purposely ignoring it for an hour so far. HAHA. So cruel.
